The Great Wall

If you go to China you must go to the Great Wall.  Not only is it great wonder of the world it is a symbol of China's national identity.  To be there and stand on it you are awestruck by it's size and the difficulty of it's construction.  It is built on a steep mountain range (you see how steep it is) so it is difficult to get to the top of it, only Ruth, Meredith and I made it to the top watch tower.  The view is stunning, it is well worth the climb.
As great as it is, there is also a sad side to the wall.  It was built with slave labor and many people died building it.  Like so many things those who built it paid a great price but the benefit was for those who came after them.
